Essential Skills for Co-Parenting Young Children (5 and Under) | Part 1

Class Details | Part 1 of 2

$40 Per Class (Per Adult)

At the Center for Families in Transition, part of our mission is to support families navigating divorce by providing specialized resources that foster long-term health and happiness for their children. We understand that co-parenting young children during a divorce presents unique challenges for parents. The CFIT Essential Skills for Co-Parenting Young Children class is specially designed to help parents navigate the early years in their children’s lives with confidence.

This class gives parents knowledge and skills to nurture healthy and happy parent-child relationships after experiencing a divorce. The class includes specific information and examples tailored for parents of children under the age of 5. Topics covered in the class include fostering secure parent-child relationships, helping young children transition between two homes, the role of play in child development, skills for using play as a method of coping for young children, co-parent communication skills, and conflict management.

This 4-hour class is taught by mental health professionals with family therapy backgrounds and satisfies all requirements for a parent education course as outlined in the Texas Family Code (Chapter 105, Section 9).

The cost of the Essential Skills for Co-Parenting Young Children course is $80 total per adult ($40 for each part).

The course is broken into two parts, each two hours long. In order to meet the State requirements, parents must complete both Part 1 and Part 2 of the course.
